Kreate continues its growth in Sweden by expanding its operations into earthworks, which also strengthens its existing rock and concrete construction business. Magnus Stenberg, who brings nearly twenty years of solid experience in the construction industry, has been appointed as Head of the Earthworks business area. At the same time, Kreate Sverige is expanding its operations to the west coast, into the Gothenburg region. Strengthening the organization and expanding geographically is part of Kreate’s strategic growth objective in Sweden.
Kreate Sverige, which specializes in technically demanding rock and tunnel construction and has been operating in the Stockholm area, has established a new office in Gothenburg and expanded its operations into a new construction type: earth and foundation construction. Magnus Stenberg, with strong experience particularly in managing earth construction projects, has been appointed to lead this new business area.
“Our goal is to create a new centre specializing in earth and foundation construction on the west coast of Sweden. As project sizes grow and construction becomes more diverse, expanding into a new type of construction supports our future growth plans. We have a skilled foundation construction team in Gothenburg led by Daniel Rönnängsgård. Magnus’ entry into earthworks will further increase our offering, so we are confident results will follow,” says Timo Vikström, CEO of Kreate Group.
The new appointments support Kreate’s strategic goal of diversifying its service offering and strengthening its position in the Swedish market. In addition to Stenberg, Ali Nejad Gafar has started as Technical Director, and Magnus von Feilitzen has taken on the role of Head of the Rock Engineering business area. Furthermore, Christian Jonsson, who has been involved in developing Kreate Sverige’s operations from the beginning, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, while continuing as Head of the Concrete Construction Business Area. Earlier this year, Kreate appointed Kenneth Wahlqvist as the new CEO of Kreate Sverige. Wahlqvist has particularly strong experience in large-scale projects and above-ground infrastructure construction. The current CEO, Veli Taatila, will move into the role of Director of Business Development for Kreate Sverige as planned in early April.
“Our goal is to strengthen our competitiveness in the Swedish market and ensure the strategic development of our business. The reinforced organization supports our operational activities, ensuring that projects progress as planned and in line with targets. With the expansion, Kreate Group’s addressable infrastructure construction market grows from 6.5 billion to 8 billion euros,” Vikström summarizes.
Kreate’s objective for its Swedish operations is to reach an annual revenue of SEK 650 million by the end of the 2024–2027 strategy period and to establish a second geographic stronghold for the Group. Geographic expansion and entry into new types of construction, as well as the shift from subcontractor to main contractor roles, support the growth target. Kreate Sverige employs 90 infrastructure professionals.
