K-Supermarket earthworks and local casting contract in Järvenpää

We began working on the site of a demolished commercial property in Järvenpää in March 2025. We proceeded with solid expertise in foundation and concrete construction, which we have accumulated from several other commercial and industrial projects.

The new K-Supermarket Palaja will be twice as large as its predecessor. A commercial property built on soft ground and the parking garage connected to it required sturdy foundation structures. In addition, the central location in an urban environment added to the challenge.

In the earthworks and local casting project, we carried out earthworks totalling approximately 19,000 cubic meters and poured a total of approximately 3,300 cubic meters of concrete. We installed 26 kilometres of strands in the parking garage, covering approximately 4,500 square meters and over 240,000 kilograms of steel were installed throughout the project. In addition, 720 reinforced concrete piles were driven, covering approximately 10 kilometres. KFS Finland Oy, a joint venture of Kreate, was responsible for the piling work.

The principal contractor is Haahtela, and the contract period is 3–12/2025. The new store will open in late 2026.
