EARTHWORKS AND SITE PREPARATION FOR A RESPONSIBLY IMPLEMENTED REAL ESTATE COMPLEX ON LAURI KORPISEN KATU IN VANTAA

The work of Kreate’s professionals included excavation work in an area of almost 15,000 m², such as surface soil removal; excavation of clay soils and contaminated soils; and excavation and shaping of spread foundations. Our specialists in foundation construction were also responsible for the side fillings subsequent to concreting work as well as the drainage and pipe work.

Among other things, the site was made challenging by the train track that runs in the immediate vicinity of the worksite, which had to be taken into account especially during piling. The stabilisation, retaining walls and anchoring were executed together with Kreate’s joint venture, KFS Finland, which specialises in special foundation construction.

The landmark rising in the heart of Tikkurila with its parking garage is the biggest project in the history of Fira, which is the contractor for the project. The project commissioned by Sponda focuses especially on energy efficiency, environmentally responsible solutions and the comfortable use of the facilities. The office property itself produces renewable energy for its own use.

The customer was Sponda Oy. For Kreate’s part, the contract time was from June 2022 to April 2023, and the contract price was approximately 3.4 million euros. The project as a whole will be completed at the turn of 2024–2025.
