Gear change project at Finland's busiest transport hub in Helsinki
Kreate carried out the Helsinki turnout replacement project, which included the replacement of six turnouts, the renewal of the superstructure of one track and the straightening of the platform at the Helsinki interchange.
The four-phase project was particularly challenging because we were working in tight time windows during traffic disruptions on Finland’s busiest railway line and at a traffic location between Helsinki Central Station and Pasila Station.
A special feature of the project was the relatively rare replacement of the adapted track crossing.
The contractor was the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, and the contract period was 6-11/2024.
