Bridge Construction Project at Vähä-Säkylä Intersection in Säkylä
Kreate is renewing the deteriorated Vähä-Säkylä intersection bridge in Säkylä. A new bridge approximately 20 meters longer than the existing one is scheduled to open by the end of November 2025.
The renovation of the Vähä-Säkylä intersection bridge near the center of Säkylä is progressing as planned. Our bridge builders will demolish the current bridge, which is in poor condition, in May 2025, after which the foundation work for the new bridge will begin. The new bridge will be built on bored piles. The pile foundation work will be carried out by KFS Finland Oy, a joint venture specializing in special foundation construction.
The new bridge will be approximately 65 meters long and 13 meters wide, a prestressed concrete continuous beam bridge, the deck of which will be cast in September. The bridge, which is approximately 20 meters longer than its predecessor, will be opened to traffic by the end of November 2025.
During the demolition work, traffic will be diverted to a detour route, and pedestrians will be able to use a footbridge next to the intersection bridge bypassing the construction site. The footbridge will be demolished later during the project, and in the future, vehicles and light traffic will use the same bridge.
The construction site is located on Rantatie (road 12691), which leads to the center of Säkylä and crosses Säkyläntie (road 204), the main road in Säkylä.
The client is the Southwest Finland Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, and the contract period is 4/2025–6/2026.
